What is Botox® ?

Botox

Botox is the trade name for Botulinum Toxin Type A. It is a purified bacterial substance which when injected into the face muscle fibres, blocks the nerve signals causing the muscle to relax which in turn, reduces lines and wrinkles caused by contractions of underlying face muscle. It is most effective in the treatment of frown lines, laugh lines, crow's feet and other dynamic wrinkles.

It has been proven to be safe, effective and is now one of the most top ranked non-surgical cosmetic treatments in the UK.

How is Botox® injected ?

Small units of Botox are injected around the required areas, using a micro-needle. The entire procedure takes approximately 15-20 minutes and does not require anaesthesia. Discomfort is very minimal and brief.

How long will it last ?

The results vary among different individuals but are expected to last around 12-14 weeks. Following this you will notice a gradual fading of its effects at which point you may return for a repeat treatment. Clinical studies have shown repeated treatments last even longer.

Are there any side effects ?

Botox has been used to treat wrinkles since the 1990's it's a very safe treatment and completely reversible. Common side effects are temporary such as mild localised bruising and slight redness of the skin.

How will I look afterwards ?

It takes 3-5 days to see an improvement and up to 14 days to see the overall effect. The results are amazing and the difference will be noticed by you and seen on our before and after photographs. Wrinkles and lines will be visibly reduced or disappear leaving the skin fresh and smoother.

Before and After

HyperHydrosis (excessive sweating)

Is underarm or forehead sweating affecting your life?

If the answer is ‘yes’ then this is the treatment for you. With almost immediate results it will dramatically increase your confidence in what you wear and how you feel. The common medical term for this condition is Hyperhydrosis and it affects men and women of all ages.

We are increasingly finding that our patients have suffered in silence with a common condition that is easily and quickly treated. The treatment involves a series of tiny injections using Botox® into the affected area to stop the sweating for up to 8 months. You can return to normal activities that same day. Repeat treatments also give longer lasting results over time.

Benefits

  • Stops underarm sweating for 6 to 8 months
  • Procedure is safe, painless and only takes 20 minutes
  • Boosts your confidence and self-esteem

Fillers

What are volumizing fillers?

Collagen is what gives volume, flexibility and strength to healthy, young skin. As a part of the aging process, your own natural collagen breaks down, diminishing facial volume and elasticity. This loss of elasticity and volume results in wrinkles, facial lines and skin laxity – all of which rob your skin of its youthful, fresh appearance.

RADIESSE® Volumizing Filler immediately provides the volume and lift needed to diminish the signs of aging because of the calcium-based microspheres and gel that comprise the product. But what's unique about RADIESSE Volumizing Filler is that it acts as a scaffold under the skin, providing structure and stimulating your own natural collagen to grow.1 This process continues for several months, which extends the initial effect of RADIESSE Volumizing Filler. Best of all, the natural results are clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients, which is why more and more cosmetic surgeons, dermatologists, and other medical professionals are choosing RADIESSE Volumizing Filler to achieve long-lasting facial rejuvenation.

What are dermal fillers?

As the skin ages, it gradually loses collagen and fat which are required to prevent the skin from becoming saggy. Dermal fillers help to restore the skin to its previous youthful appearance. Filler is injected into the areas of the skin where it needs to be plumped up again and made to look firmer. It is great for treating naso-labial lines (between the nose and mouth), marionette lines (lines in the corner of the mouth), deep wrinkles, depressions and hollow sunken cheeks. The leading dermal filler used by most UK doctors is a hyaluronic acid based product. At Fresh City Face we use Hydra fill Soft line®

How are dermal fillers given?

Topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the area. This area will then be injected with a fine needle into the lines or problem areas to plump them up. The results are visible immediately. Your skin will be smoother and younger looking. Treatments usually take around 30-45 minutes.

How long do dermal fillers last?

The results can last from 9-12 months, but this varies from one person to another. Without top up treatment, the filler will gradually break down and get absorbed by the body allowing the lines and wrinkles to return to their previous appearance.

What are the risks or side effects associated with dermal fillers?

In the UK dermal filler treatments have grown tremendously as the treatment is effective and the risks are low. Following the procedure you may experience some redness, swelling and bruising which is normal and will subside.
